Gettysburg College students take pride in their work, and we are likewise proud to announce their recent academic achievements. Students whose semester averages were 3.6 or above were recently placed on the Dean's Honor List. The following local students have been awarded this outstanding academic achievement in the Spring 2019 semester.

Students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester's work were recently placed on the Deans' Commendation List. The following students from your area have been placed on the Spring 2019 list:

Students have been named to the dean's list at James Madison University for the spring 2019 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899.

Students have been named to the president's list at James Madison University for the spring 2019 semester. Students who earn president's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above.

A total of 11,406 students enrolled during the 2019 spring term at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

James Madison University is pleased to announce the students who graduated during the May 2019 commencement exercises.

The University of Scranton announced more than 1,650 students were named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2019 spring semester.

MBU students were inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the national leadership honor society, on April 11, 2019. ODK recognizes and encourages superior leadership and exemplary character among its members.

MBU students were inducted into Iota Sigma Pi (ISP), the national honor society for women in chemistry, on November 11, 2018. ISP strives to promote interest in chemistry among women students; foster mutual advancement in academic, business, and social life; and stimulate personal accomplishment in chemical fields.

Eastern Mennonite University is pleased to recognize students who were named to the Spring 2019 Dean's List. The Dean's List, compiled at the end of each term, includes degree-seeking students who achieve a semester GPA of at least 3.75 with no withdrawn, incomplete, or failing grades for 12 semester hours of standard grades.

486 students were welcomed as alumni on May 5, 2019, at Eastern Mennonite Univeristy's 101st Commencement Ceremony. Congratulations, graduates!

Troy University is pleased to recognize students who completed the requirements for graduation during the Spring Semester and Term 4 of the 2018/2019 academic year. The Spring Semester includes graduates from the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 4 graduates include students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with teaching sites outside of Alabama and online.

Some 3,275 students were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 218th commencement ceremonies. Darren Walker who presides over the Ford Foundation, one of the world's most influential social justice philanthropies and one of the largest private foundations in the United States, delivered the address.

Troy University is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Chancellor's List for the spring semester and Term 4 of the 2018/2019 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the Chancellor's List. The spring semester includes students at the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 4 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with locations outside of Alabama and online.

Bucknell University presented degrees to nearly 900 graduates at Commencement on May 19, 2019.

These and other themes were reflected during Gettysburg College's 184th Commencement ceremony as we celebrated the accomplishments of our 611 graduates and looked forward with them to the future. Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni.

To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Mary Baldwin University students have chosen the Student Government Association (SGA) executive officers who will lead them in the coming academic year.

The Eastern Mennonite University community gathered to celebrate student successes of the 2019 spring semester and special end-of-the-academic-year recognitions.

More than 500 University of Utah undergraduate students, representing every college and more than 70 academic departments and schools, presented their research projects in the 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium, held April 9, 2019. The symposium highlighted the U's commitment to undergraduate research and featured oral, poster and performance presentations.

The University of Alabama's Black Faculty and Staff Association recently recognized students who received premier academic awards for 2018-19. The students were honored on Black Scholars Day. The mission of the Black Faculty and Staff Association is to contribute to the betterment of UA a by serving as an advocate for educational equity, with an emphasis on African-American students, and the professional needs of its members. To that end, this organization promotes and provides opportunities for networking among individuals and groups to articulate mutual concerns and advance educational opportunities.

The Mississippi College Office of Academic Affairs releases the dean's list after the close of fall and spring semesters each academic year. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.
